Who I Am
My name is Alexander Humphrey, but I go by Xander. I am a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a degree in Communication Arts (Radio, Film, and Television) and History, as well as a Digital Studies certificate. During my studies, I've developed a love for writing, with aspirations to be a fiction author. I love the act of writing and my life work will contribute to my novel/short story ideas.
My worldview
I'm energized by uncovering the truth of the human condition, which I wish to explore through writing. I want to offer the world my perspective, in hopes that I create art that other people can cherish and relate to, as well as provide meaningful commentary on what it means to be a human, and our shared experience with this world. My goal for the future is to write stories people find comfort in. Stories that make people feel the beauty of the universe.
My love of storytelling extends to the study of history and film as well. I've developed my production and filmmaking skills through various courses at UW-Madison, which have given me the tools essential for digital communication. History has provided me with the analytical and writing tools necessary for uncovering the mysteries of our past. My goal is to help cultivate a more inclusive world where we all strive to do our best.
Besides writing, in my free time, I like to read, travel (with the goal of visiting all 50 states. I've been to 42!), and spend quality time with my friends. I believe laughter is essential to our happiness, so I make sure to cut out time for socializing. I also love cooking, despite how stressful it can be, because there is no greater feeling than eating a meal you crafted yourself.
